backwards?

I see now I am not so good. The first post is missing. And my last post comes up first on the blog!

I started with 3 photos of my "hard quilts", broken dishes mosaic I made this summer. Wanted to share them with Linda H. She promised to post some of her mosaic on the blog. I think these little mirrors look something like quilts.

conclusion

I think I may have mastered this blog posting. Have to do it again tomorrow to reinforce.

My first mosaic was this clay pot.

and more mosaic

I covered a bowling ball (cat image), but my favorite piece is a simple concrete pipe connector that I used for the bottom of a "sculpture" to hold a sun dial. Uses a handleless jug and an electrical insulator, then the sundial.

Trying to learn how to use the blog. My best "hard quilt" is the one I made for Linda Morand using her broken Toby Jug.

Play day at Laguna

Linda Morand, Debby Bainbridge and Cathy Ortelle joined the Xtremes play date at the Laguna Water treatment plant. Pat Fratis, Teach Guerrini and Gina Calhoun also attended. There was a wide variety of techniques being applied to various projects.

Debby created bees for her Pointless challenge project.

Linda came to socialize.

Pat Fratis transferred photographic images onto her surfaces by projecting them onto the cloth-covered wall.

Teach Guerrini created pieced backgrounds for her latest wall-hanging.

Gina Calhoun worked on her latest project, a series that illustrates a story.

Cathy Ortelle used Shiva Oil Paintsticks to create surface designs on hand-dyed and black fabric. She also brought a camera to document the event for the blog, but forgot to take pictures! Go figure!

A good time was had by all.

Instructions for Using the Blog

Hi Everyone

I have created 2 videos which show how to use the blog. If you have trouble playing the movies try downloading Quiktime. It can be found here.
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

The first thing to learn is how to make a comment on someone else's posting.

You can learn how to add a comment to a post by viewing this video.

Next you will want to try and add your own posting. Cathy Ortelle already emailed you an invitation to become a blog contributor. Open the email and follow the link. In order to accept Cathy's invitation you will need to create a google account. If you need another copy of the email contact Cathy at elletro@sbcglobal.net.

After accepting the invitation to become a contributor to the blog
Watch this video which shows how to add text and images
.

See you Tuesday
